Location: Shawnee, KS
Renovations: James Hardie siding, ProVia windows
The family’s two-story home in Shawnee, KS, was showing signs of age. Wood rot had taken over parts of the back of the house, and their old, drafty windows made their home less energy-efficient. Looking for a reliable and trusted company to handle the job, they chose Safe Harbor Exteriors—a decision based on our strong reputation for quality workmanship.
Thoughtful Design & Planning for a Smooth Siding & Window Replacement Project
During our consultation, we carefully assessed the home’s needs. While the siding on the main structure required replacement, we recommended leaving the shed siding as-is since it was still in good condition, helping the homeowner maximize their budget. We also suggested a cedar pillar replacement on the front porch for a warm, natural touch, instead of painting them as originally planned.
Overcoming Installation Challenges with Precision & Care
To bring new life to the home, we installed James Hardie siding—a durable, long-lasting solution that offers superior protection against the elements. For improved energy efficiency and comfort, we replaced their aging windows with ProVia windows, known for their high performance and stunning aesthetics.
During installation, we encountered significant wood rot around the chimney, which required extra repair work to ensure a stable, long-lasting result. Our team tackled this challenge head-on, making the necessary repairs before completing the siding installation to ensure a durable and long-lasting finish.
A Job Well Done & A Delicious Thank-You
By the end of the project, the home had a fresh, beautiful new look with low-maintenance, high-performance materials. The homeowners were thrilled with the results—and their gratitude went beyond words. As a generous thank-you, they even smoked a pork butt for our crew, treating them to a well-earned lunch!
At Safe Harbor Exteriors, we don’t just renovate homes—we build lasting relationships. If you’re looking for expert siding and window replacement, we’re here to help bring your vision to life.
